Nancy Castro’s philosophy on life encompasses every level of self-care. This includes: preparing (and eating) healthy meals and snacks, exercise, a good night’s sleep and lots of time with family and friends.
Her journey into wellness started when she, like many of us, was faced with the challenge and stresses of balancing work and family life. Even then, Nancy understood the importance of daily exercise and a balanced diet for optimum health and endurance, and she has maintained that regimen right up to today.
This interest also led her to become the co-owner of Herbal Magic, where she gained a wealthy of experience counselling women in achieving their goals of losing weight safely. Most recently she joined Dr. Poon’s program.
Nancy has always has a passion for cooking. She was trained in gourmet cuisine over 20 years ago – after losing ten pounds on Phase One of Dr. Poon’s program, she decided to put that training to work, by tailoring the menus according to his diet specification, to include Phase 1 and 2 Mediterranean, Caribbean, Persian and now Vegetarian Indian Dishes. This process included a healthy meal plan based on her metabolic type (a system that she was introduced to earlier). With the Mediterranean, Caribbean and now Persian dishes included, Nancy lost 30 pounds and realized that she did not have to give up her favorite foods to do so.
Nancy has firsthand knowledge of these Persian dishes because she had the opportunity to work with people where there dishes originate.
Nancy credits her son Joseph for fueling her passion and supporting her by saying “You are finally doing what you love to do Mom.”
